Oxford Lions Present Citizen of the Year Award

Marv Hamstra 2015 Citizen of the Year Oxford Lions

The “We serve” motto of the Oxford Lions Club is well founded, but recently they chose to honor a member of the community for his selfless service to others. On August 27, at the Lions’ and Rotary’s annual picnic at Boname Park, Marv Hamstra was proudly presented the Lions Club’s 2015 Citizen of the Year award.

From the Oxford Food Pantry, Christmas Community baskets, Chenango County Habitat for Humanity, (not to mention wearing his winter red suit), and much, much more, Marv gives so much of himself; his time to make other people’s lives better and happier.
