MEETING MINUTES 5/22/2012

Oxford Lions meeting May 22nd 2012

 

The regular scheduled Oxford Lions meeting was called to order by King Lion Michael LaCroce

Guests: Mary El, Annabelle

 

Financial Report was read and accepted    ***   Minutes were read and accepted

 

Old Business:

a)  Chili Pepper Café – at Fair Grounds needs to be cleaned up for the Fair Event. Volunteers are meeting at the site on THU, June 14, 2012 at 8am.

b)  Correspondence – received a “thank you” for supporting Krista Bartle’s the “save the animals fund raiser”.

c)   Food trailer – Inventory was taken in the Food trailer – Lion Mike put together a list and needed kitchen gadgets were purchased in order to get ready for the Wild Wheels Weekend in Mt. Upton.

Later on this 2012 season the trailer needs a new paint job and/or metal clad siding in order to give it a face lift.

Volunteers for the WWW Mt. Upton event need to sign up. Lion Debbie will call all Lions to sign up.

Volunteers need to meet at Blue Ox on FRI at 9am to tow the storage trailer and food booth trailer – the convoy will then travel to the event site together.

Grills and tents are needed to shelter the booth

d)  Storage trailer – purchased by Lion John Weidman is a good, sturdy trailer and will serve us well for all our future events.

 

 

New Business:

a)  Boname Park signs – are missing, need to be replaced and painted-subject will brought up again at the June meetings.

b)  Common Sense Thrift Shop – is an Oxford enterprise which sells used items of all kinds; its proceeds support the local Oxford Soup-Kitchen.  Lion David has requested a donation to assist in paying for needed shelving and an outbuilding for storage.  Lions donated $500.

c)  Induction of new Lions officers – takes place on June 26, 2012 at Steere Lake at 6pm. –

d)  Lions FUN OUTING– has been postponed until fall time –

e)  Lions pot luck summer party takes place on August 14th at Lions Sigi and Loren – 724 County Rd. 19

f)  Public Relations Committee

Halloween Party Organizers are still our faithful volunteers Jen Clark and Linda Bartle –

Lion Carol Kuhn will remain as School dance organizer and Eye glass coordinator –

Perch Derby Chair person is Lion Jared Bartle –

g)  Raffle Tickets – are running low and Lion Loren will purchase new ones ASAP –

h) Red Cross Blood Drive in Greene – Oxford Lions are not participating at this time –
