Old Business:

Correspondence received from –

Red Cross about 3-4 volunteers needed for their several already scheduled Blood Drives.  Oxford Lions have not agreed to assist at present, but are leaving the possibility open for some later date.

District Governor, the push up Governor, is requesting of all Lions clubs to send voting delegates to the upcoming convention in Syracuse.  At present there are no Oxford Lions attending.

Dollar for Scholar Golf Tournament in memory of Jim Podraza is being held, and a request for sponsoring a part of the tournament was received.  Lions donated $100.

Spanish Language Program at Oxford Schools received a $50 donation from the Lions.

New Business:

“6 on the Square Americana Fest” and July 4th Celebration will be celebrated in the park with 2 concerts.  A fund raiser in honor of the 4th annual event will be held before the July 4th concert.  More info can be obtained from Lion John Knapp.  Lions donated $250 to the cause.

Lions Pot luck-get-togethers are planned for July and August at Lion John Weidman’s place and Lions Sigi and Loren.  Dates are still to be determined.

Wild Wheel Weekend in Mount Upton is taking place on June 8-9-10.  This is a fund raising event to assist 2 families who have extensive medical treatments and costs for their children coming up.

This could be a good fund raiser for the Oxford Lions, HOWEVER, WE ARE SHORT ON MAN POWER.

King Lion decided on recruiting sub-contractors to help out with serving food.

Both the Lions Food Trailer, as well as the newly purchased storage trailer, will be on site to carry all our food and equipment. Food Trailer inventory will be taken on Sat. April 28th by King Lion and Lion Sigi.

Pop up-tents and grills are needed –

Tables are furnished by the Legions at event site –

Lion Banner is needed – King Lion will follow on purchasing a banner.

Insurance details need to be followed up on.  In case of injuries there are 3 different insurance plans in force such as Lions Insurance, Developer’s Insurance and the Township Insurance.

Oxford Lions Website set up has not been forgotten, and King Lion is at present in contact with Josh Davis from Ithaca.  Josh is invited to the meeting for presentation at which time we will learn the cost and maintenance of such a website.  Lions wish to be able to edit the website independently at any given time.

Lion Howard Smith gave us a short report on his attending the “44 Lions Club” in Wildwood, FL.  The District Governor in that area is none other than a native from Albany, NY.

We congratulated Lion Howard as he and his wife just celebrated their 27th Wedding Anniversary.  After a quick look from his bride, he corrected himself to admitting to 57 years of marriage.

Winners: 50/50 = Joe Gugio + Dinner = Lion Jared Bartle and both donated back to the Lions.
